My situation was congenital - this was always a part of me. I credit my parents for my determination. When I fell they let me get up on my own. My parents let me try whatever I wanted. They may have had doubts but never discouraged me. I had a normal childhood and played all of the childhood games as other children did like jump rope and even double dutch, roller skating, climbing trees, etc. I do everything with my prosthesis; it is a part of me because it was always a part of me. I met my husband at the roller rink. I was a concession worker and yes a roller skater.
