Limb prostheses replace a lost body part to restore function in a way that is cosmetically pleasing. There is a no such thing as a prefabricated prosthesis, each device must be intimately fabricated and fit to an individual.

Although orthoses may be needed temporarily, a prosthesis is for life. This makes your relationship with your prosthetist an important aspect of your care; an amputee needs to feel comfortable with their prosthetist, discussing ways to improve function and comfort.

Northern Orthotics and Prosthetics utilizes the latest technology to benefit each individual. Components are chosen based upon activities, size, insurance, goals, limitations, and patient preferences. Making a prosthesis is a collaboration between the client and prosthetist.
