From day one I accepted that my leg was getting hacked off. What a ride it’s been!
The amputation itself cost an arm and a leg, but thankfully I was able to get it for half price. I could easily get a job at iHop. My pedicures are half priced. Flamingos are now my spirit animal. And I greet everyone with “I’m a foot shorter than when I last saw you!”
My advice: acceptance is key to getting up and back on with life. Embrace that you will have a new normal and get to working creating it!
