April is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month!

The month of April is special to us because it is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month. During this month, we strive to honor our community and educate others about what it is like to live with a limb loss or limb difference. 

As Prosthetists, we try our best to understand our patient's emotional, physical, and social situation after suffering limb loss or being born with a limb difference. However, we have discovered that only YOU can truly know what your journey has been like. Sharing your personal stories and experiences, both good and bad, is the most powerful form of education and support.

YOU are our inspiration for this year. We want you to share your stories with us and our community. Tell us first hand what it is like to live with a limb loss or limb difference.  What was it like to take your first steps with a prosthesis? How did your family and friends react? Is managing a prosthesis easier or more difficult than you thought? No one knows your experiences better than you.
