COVID-19 Precautions
Dear Patients of Northern Orthotics and Prosthetics,
As of 3/16/20 our offices are open for business providing orthotic and/or prosthetic care.
We are closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation, specifically, guidance and updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO). With this information, we are developing and implementing thoughtful plans and actions in our offices to provide a safe and healthy environment.
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to present itself in locations throughout the U.S., please rest assured your safety and wellbeing is our utmost concern.
We know that many of our patients fall into the category as high risk for complications should they contract the virus. We understand that some patients are choosing to self-isolate as a preventative measure and we are happy to reschedule appointments to a later date.
Proactive steps we are taking:
- Requiring team members to take preventive measures to help stop the spread of the virus, including but not limited to: washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoiding contact with others who are sick, and staying home if sick.
- Provid our staff training with prescriptive preventive measures and resources, including: facts on the virus, reinforcement of facility cleaning guidelines (including the temporary removal of toys in our pediatric areas), guidance on personal protective care and use, and instructions on reporting a COVID-19 exposure.
- Communicating with patients through various channels to ensure we reschedule an appointment if they have a fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing, have traveled to or had close contact with someone who has traveled to high risk countries, or have tested positive for or been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
Our ask of you:
If you have an upcoming appointment scheduled with us and have a fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing, have traveled to or had close contact with someone who has traveled to high risk countries, or have tested positive for or been exposed to someone with COVID-19, we ask you to reschedule your appointment for 14 or more days from now, giving you time to assess any implications that may occur as a result of your symptoms and/or potential exposure.
If you are interested in following the latest COVID-19 updates, you can do so on the CDC’s website.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this trying situation.
Sincerely,
The Staff of Northern Orthotics and Prosthetics
